Keeping Austin Weird…Because We Were There…Why Else???

09/04/2010

So we arrived home from OK 11pm Saturday night.  We got up, went to church, got home at 3pm, loaded the car, and headed to Austin.  Poor Aaron only got to see us for a matter of hours and we were gone again.  We decided to turn Austin into a vacation as well.  All too often, we go there and never leave the house.  It made for a fun extension of our vacation!!

We got to Austin late Sunday night…with enough time to unpack and unwind….and rest for a week full of activities!

AUSTIN DAY 1: BLUE HOLE WIMBERLY

We met up with my sis and her family to head to Blue Hole.  This place is beautiful!!!

How beautiful is that?? You can barely see Caden up in the tree.

Beautiful kids at a beautiful place! After Blue Hole, we met some friends for dinner at Nutty Brown’s.  Personally, I think that’s a nutty name for a restaurant :)

Caden and Boston!

my boys!

DAY 2: PUMP IT UP

On Day 2, we took the boys to Pump it Up with Aaron’s family.  The boys had a blast of course.  I honestly can’t remember what we did after that!

DAY 3: LAKE AUSTIN WITH AARON’S FAMILY

nothing like sitting at the lake with PaPa

We spent the whole afternoon on tubes riding the waves from the boats that passed by.  It was fun and relaxing!

Then it was time for “redneck golf” and a cookout!

DAY 4: BOWLING

Georgetown had free bowling for the kiddos…can’t pass that up!

Oh yes, this next one deserves a picture all by itself.  I schooled Adam :)  Not bad for not bowling for at least 5 years!  I was soooo close to breaking 200….ug!

OH YEAH!

We ate lunch at a little place in Georgetown and then Boston and I headed to the outlet mall for a little bit!

Let me start this next part with a disclaimer that states I don’t like gambling and don’t encourage my kids to do it and all that….however, my mother-in-law took my kids to play Bingo….and Caden won $30.  That would have been cool by itself…but not near as good as Rylan winning $300!  CRAZY!!!

DAY 5: GREAT GRANDMA and DUCK POND

Seriously, where is mind?  I have absolutely no memory of what we did that morning…you know you are getting old when…

However, on the evening of the 5th day we went to visit Great Grandma and then went to the duck pond in Taylor.

DAY 6: SUMMER’S 2ND BDAY PARTY

We ended the week with my niece’s birthday party.  It was great to be able to see all of Aaron’s family.  I miss the days when we got to see each other all the time!

Rylan with the birthday girl...awwww!
